Our winning project, BeCool – Clean Cooling for Markets in Kenya, delivers sustainable Cooling-as-a-Service to small-scale produce traders in Kenya’s Lake Victoria region, where food spoilage due to lack of refrigeration remains a critical challenge.
With solar-powered cold rooms built locally from recycled and renewable materials, and an easy rental system via app, BeCool ensures affordable, reliable, and climate-friendly cooling – helping to reduce food waste and strengthen local economies.
