☀️ ❄️ 📑 We are delighted to launch the 2024 edition of our Solar Cold Rooms technical HANDBOOK!
Solar cooling solutions have grown in importance in recent years. At the same time, it has become increasingly difficult to maintain an overview of the various technologies available and the engineering behind them. Our technical handbook is structured in such a way that it is easily accessible to readers who are new to each technical aspect.
Take a look and learn about cooling units, solar panels, batteries, inverters and the theory behind them. You will get a quick overview of the components you need and how to wire them. You can also explore the requirements of agricultural products and design your own specific system using the Excel-based design toolbox.
The basic content of the handbook is based on the course transcript developed by Strathmore Energy Research Centre, the University of Hohenheim and Solar Cooling Engineering in 2022 and supported by the Green People’s Energy for Africa initiative of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH .
The current 2024 edition has been extensively improved and expanded to include all existing cold room technologies available. This work was supported by the Efficiency for Access Research and Development Fund. The Efficiency for Access Research and
